#OCCUPY FARMLAND
Hey John and CFFB crew,
Thank you. You have given so much with TTMJ and the CFFB site, it has had a profound impact on my life. Suffice it to say I went from a 180# off of traditional CF programming to 208# off of CFFB from August 2011 to the present. My CFFB total has evolved from below 1000 lbs to 1335 lbs for the latest one on the site (Post-#OS Chicago), in which every single lift was a PR (PC 240, SQ 365, BP 230, DL 500). Your site is an invaluable resource, and the shit works, period. Thank you for giving us a small glimmer if what it is like to be “Welbourn Strong”. I will be seeing you soon as I am bringing a group to get their cert’s at the Bloomington-Normal weekend.
The picture is from this last weekend, CrossFit Farmland’s Fittest Farmhand Challenge drew 90 athletes to the small town of Waunakee, WI. We messed around with heavy shit, flipping rail ties, pull-ups off of skidster forks, etc. The scene in the photo is the notorious hill we use every year in some way, this year we made the athletes sprint up it with 4 hay bales as hurdles, twice. Primarily our programming here at CFF is based on the Power Athlete template, and it showed in our athletes as the weights weren’t an issue.
Thanks again,
Kyle
Kyle,
This is the culture we have worked to cultivate and the results of the programming we have hoped for. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication and I will see you in Bloomington-Normal in a few weeks. I am coming in solo on Friday for a meet and greet, to any answer questions you have and fix any problems.
Be well.
John
Straight up coolest thing. from a former farm boy that is some legit-ness (not sure if that is a word). I believe John you grew up in the burbs but you should get an honorary country strong title for your work with crossfit football.
AWESOME!!!!
I was in Madison for business last year and I paid these guys a visit. I was nine months into CrossFit and just buying up some gear for my garage gym. Kyle put me through the ringer with a great WOD. I bought a t-shirt and left there with one tip; “You have to squat…a lot.”
Following Farmland on Facebook led me to TTMJ and CFFB. I started implementing SWODs and now we follow CFFB strictly in my garage.
Myself, as well as my fiancée and three buddies, who also work out in our garage, owe Farmland a thank you. They pointed me toward the best part of CrossFit; Welbourn’s CrossFit.
I heard you guys got a new facility! I’ll be sure to drop in next time I’m in town and check it out.
Thanks again!
We’ll have the grill fired up and the big green egg smoking some serious pork shoulder the weekend of the cert. Anybody coming to BLO-NO to get CFFB strong can feel free to stop by CFBN on Friday evening to partake in copious grilled animal consumption and intense “bro-ing out”
Ok guys, a lady’s two cents.
I started with CrossFit Farmland mid-December 2011, a few weeks into a CFFB programming block. After years of listening to “professionals” and concerned family and friends telling me women should never ever under any circumstances lift weights, they can all kiss my ass. Day 1 deadlift 60#. Day 90 deadlift 205#. And it just keeps getting better (currently 5# shy of 2x body weight). Women are always looking for ways to be better, this is the way to do it. Plus, the sense of accomplishment goes unmatched. I, too, will be at the CFFB cert and am extremely excited to be part of it!
PS – that’s me climbing over the 2nd hay bale.
Day 30 was 205#. Apparently I’m dyslexic today.
Thanks for the shout-out Josh and I’ll make sure to let Coach Kyle know of your comments. Good luck in your continued training.
